708. The Golden Spurtle

The Golden Spurtle

Okay the word “Spurtle,” is just funny. And to add in “Golden Spurtle,” even better. Turns out it’s a Scottish cooking utensil for stirring porridge. And every year there’s a world porridge championship in Carrbridge village among the Scottish Highlands.

Rolled Oats, Quick Oats, & Steel Cut Oats

I don’t think I’ll ever be awarded the Golden Spurtle like Bob did of Bob’s Mills out of Wisconsin.

But I do love to mix me some steel cut oats with rolled oats, chia seeds, maybe some cream of wheat… water and microwave. Add in some almond butter, almonds, honey… and bam, tasty!!! Occasionally throw in some blueberries for good measure.

Behold The Golden Spurtle!

A good thing…

…for Porridge.
