Enola Holmes is a Netflix movie that features the excellent Stranger Things Millie Bobby Brown as the lead character Enola Holmes.
Sherlock and his bro had a young sis named Enola. Enola’s name was a world puzzle of sorts, alone backwards. She was brought up by her Mom played by Helena Bomham Carter who plays the part perfectly. I mean if anyone was cutout for playing Sherlock’s Mom, it would be her.
Of course the real scene stealer here is Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown as Enola Holmes. Girl got acting chops and it’s almost as if the part was written for her. Brown these days is all of 16 and they grow up fast when they grow up on the silver screen. Much like Harry Potter’s Emma Watson, Brown has become all teenager but a precocious 16, developing from role to role. She completely owns it, the comedy bits, the drama bits, the thriller bits, the quirky Holmesian bits. It’s impressive. And she raps….
Be like all the cool kidz, pull up Netflix and watch that Enola Holmes. You want regret it. A Stranger Thing??? Nah, not this time. A good thing.
