Apparently Salome was a Princess, beautiful beyond compare.
According to the Gospels of Mark (6:14–29) and Matthew (14:1–12), Herod Antipas had imprisoned John the Baptist for condemning his marriage to Herodias, the divorced wife of his half brother Herod Philip (the marriage violated Mosaic Law), but Herod was afraid to have the popular prophet killed. After Salome danced before Herod and his guests at a festival, he promised to give her whatever she asked. Prompted by her mother, Herodias, who was infuriated by John’s condemnation of her marriage, the girl demanded the head of John the Baptist on a platter, and the unwilling Herod was forced by his oath to have John beheaded. Salome took the platter with John’s head and gave it to her mother. — Encyclopedia Brittanica

Evidently Salome is also a song by some Dallas Texas Band. Who has heard of them?? Almost no one or perhaps you have?
Salome, uncross your heart
I know what goes on inside, it’s over before it starts
Stay all night, yeah I’ll wait right here
The full moon might work magic, girl but I won’t disappearAnd I’m tired of makin’ friends and I’m tired of makin’ time
And I’m sick to death of love and I’m sick to death of tryin’
And it’s easier for you, oh it’s easier for you
And it’s easier for you, it’s easier for youSalome, untie my hands
Well I’ll find another lady and you’ll wreck another man
It’s over now, yeah and so are we
My blood’s turned to dirt, girl you broke every part of meAnd I’m tired of makin’ friends and I’m tired of makin’ time
And I’m sick to death of love and I’m sick to death of tryin’
And it’s easier for you, oh it’s easier for you
And it’s easier for you, oh it’s easierAnd I’m tired of makin’ friends and I’m tired of makin’ time
And I’m sick to death of love and I’m sick to death of tryin’
And it’s easier for you, yeah it’s easier for you

The song sounds a little something like this. Ma Sarah Johnson Swinney, click here: Salome by the Old 97’s.
It has been a song lately that very much resonates with me. To find out why I might need to do a great deal of introspection. Who has time for that shit really? Not Rhett Miller the serial lady killer! Murray Hammond, the Peebles dude, or the dude that plays guitar so well?? Are the Old 97’s the Beat band ever? On certain nights and in certain venues, I would say yes!! Catch them at Stubb’s in A-town on the right night with thunder and lightning and they will play right through that deluge and you will be happier for it. Of course we all know that AC/DC & The Rolling Stones are the two greatest bands of all times. This is not even a debate really. Really.

Salome both the mythical story and the song. Both very good things!
