830. McCall, Idaho

McCall Ice Festival

McCall, Idaho. Never heard of it? Well some of the locals refer to it as a resort town with a resort economy. But I’d say it better fits as a distinct Idaho Mountain town then anything else.

McCall

The city by the lake, Payette Lake, it seems like the best things occur just North of Boise as the Treasure Valley wears out ID-55 time and time again to McCall as their preferred backyard playground. For summertime there’s a lake with a state park attached to it, Ponderosa State Park. Something for everyone there’s even historic resort-like upscale lodging in Shore Lodge established in 1948. And in the winter there skiiing and snow showing various places but most noticeably Brundage Mountain.

If you visit Idaho you owe it to yourself to make it up to McCall, no matter what time of year. You will feel like you are in a Mountain Town unique to Idaho
