Bogus Basin is our little city mountain ski hill. But it’s became more than that, it’s a year round resort and an extension of what makes Boise a great place. Ask any local or someone who has been living here a bit and we take pride in Bogus Basin. There’s been so many family and friend times on the mountain and it’s just 16 miles away from the city.

So in the last 5 years or so Bogus has become more than just the local ski hill. I was up there this morning hitting up a massive trail system that incorporates some of the ski area, the ridge to rivers trail system and the resort cross country skiing trails and routes. They have a mountain roller coaster and as I pulled out of the parking lot I saw about 100 or so people out there doing yoga at the bottom of the mountain.

The ski tickets and season passes are affordable, they have snow making now which helps on kinda dry winters. It’s a bit of a windy road to get there but you begin to know every twist and turn and I still get excited to get up there every time driving up. This morning just like when I would drive up after a night shift in my 20’s to go skiing mid-day. I guess I can’t say enough good things about Bogus Basin and the way it’s managed. We are proud of our own little sky hill here all grown up and a year round magical place.

Bogus Basin, a Good Thing. Watch this.
Oh you can bike up the road and back down. Just this morning I had to pull in one of the slow traffic pull outs to let a faster road bicycle pass me by. First time for that.
